Introduction
James Booth is a security architect, founder, and technologist. He works where identity, data, infrastructure, and human decisions meet, and where a quiet assumption can become a serious failure.
His approach is architectural: make trust explicit, keep authority proportional, and design systems that remain legible under pressure.
Career
For more than fifteen years, James has moved between strategy and implementation: clarifying risk, shaping architectures, and helping teams deliver systems they can defend and operate. The through line is consistent: turn ambiguous risk into decisions that teams can defend, explain, and operate.
Operating philosophy
Security controls are necessary but not sufficient. Failures often begin when identity, authority, incentives, and operations tell different stories about who can do what.
James starts with the decision a system must make, then works backward to the data, interfaces, controls, and teams that make that decision trustworthy.
Current work
James is the founder of Lattix, where he continues to work on the relationship between security, data, and distributed systems. His focus remains on the same questions: how trust is established, how data moves, and how systems behave under pressure.
